花の図鑑を見ていて、次の作品には何を描こうか迷っていた時、バンクシアの花を見つけました。

バンクシアは華やかではないけれど、大胆な花です。

そんなバンクシアの花言葉は「勇気ある恋」。

その花言葉にピッタリ動物を描きたくなり、ライオンを描きました。

ライオンは百獣の王と言われるくらいの圧倒な力を持っていますが、そんなライオンがつい、優しく微笑んでしまうくらい可愛らしく、勇気ある恋なのかもしれません。

I was looking through a floral illustrated book and wondering what to paint for my next piece when I came across the banksia flower.

Banksia is not gorgeous, but it is a bold flower.

The language of such a banksia flower is "courageous love.

I wanted to draw an animal that fits the language of the flower, so I drew a lion.

The lion has such overwhelming power that it is called the king of all beasts, but perhaps it is such a cute and courageous love that it makes such a lion smile gently.
